Skyler Britt LyBarger, 58, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at home. He was born on June 23, 1967, in Denver, Colorado to the late Earl Richard and Shirley Mae (nee Blackwell) LyBarger.
Skyler worked hard in life to achieve his 3 Masters and other college degrees. He had been an accomplished skater in both roller and ice, having won 2 gold medals in roller skating for the United States, along with countless other awards worldwide. Skyler had been a lover of animals and advocate for various animal rights organizations.
Skyler is survived by his loving spouse, AJ "Alan" LeBergé; one sister, Shanda (Sam) Abeyta; three sisters-in-law, Corrine Younger, Sharon (Robert) Kaminski, and Darlene (Doug) Ecklund; five nieces, Lori, Sheri, Jamie, Jessie, and Leslie; two nephews Dino and John; one great niece, Morgan; and many friends. In addition to his parents, Skyler was preceded in death by his sister, Dildine “Dee” LyBarger; and sister-in-law, Linda Rosen.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11:00 am, at Gurnee Community Church, 4555 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee, IL with Pastor Brian K. Walter officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gurnee Community Church.
