Robert Karl Kofler, 67, of Gurnee, passed away December 17, 2020. He was born March 26, 1953, in Russelsheim, Germany to the late Karl and Edith Kofler (nee Pauli).
Bob immigrated to the US with his parents when he was 6 years old. He began his career working in his father’s business, Kofler Painting & Decorating. He quickly included realtor into his portfolio, becoming a real estate developer and home builder in the Lake County area for over 40 years. His favorite hobby was anything that had to do with cars. He had a collection of cars ranging from vintage pickup trucks to newer corvettes. He attended and competed in many car shows. Bob also served on the Warren Township High School Board for many years. Some of his favorite memories; attending stock car races, NASCAR races with his brother in Jackson, MI and working at the Unocal Station in the pits at Daytona International Speedway. He thoroughly enjoyed life and his family.
He is survived by his brother, Gary (Ruth) Kofler; son, Bobby (Natalie) Kofler, granddaughter, Anika; daughter, Kelly (Mark) Hildebrandt, granddaughters, Lilly and Penny; as well as his enduring companion of 25 years, Carol Walton; and nine grandchildren whom he adored.
Due to COVID, a memorial service will be held at a later date. (This is TBD)
