Richard Charles William Schulz, a former resident of River Forest, Illinois, passed away April 7, 2021, at the age of 67 from natural causes. The youngest child of Dorothy and Richard O. Schulz. He is survived by his son’s Richard Randal (Lilli) of Downers Grove, Illinois, Kenneth of Dallas, Texas, and Eric of Aurora, Illinois; and his grandson Benjamin Robert. He leaves behind brothers, Douglas of Scottsdale, Arizona, Steven (Janice) of Vacaville, California, and sisters, Margaret Tafilaw of River Forest and Virginia Theodore of Barrington, Illinois; and his extended family which includes many nieces and nephews, and 14 cousins. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his older sister, Ann Marie Joyce of Tampa, Florida. Richard graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School in the class of 1972, after which he apprenticed at the Richard O. Schulz Tool & Die Company. Richard had a passion for buying and selling cars, especially Mercedes Benz. He also worked as an “extra” in as many as 17 motion pictures filmed locally which included “standing in” for actor Walter Matthau in the films “Dennis the Menace” and “Grumpy Old Men.” As an extra he also worked in T.V. movies and did commercials. In recent years, Richard wrote story lines for movies and television. A private burial is pending.
