Patricia "Patti" Thoennes

Patricia "Patti" Leigh Thoennes, 57, of Mundelein passed away at home on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 21, 1962, in Evanston to Edmund Peter "Skip" and Shirley Ann (Froelich) Schneider. On November 9, 1985, in Wilmette, Patti married James Mitchell "Mitch" Thoennes. Patti profoundly loved her family and friends, including those with four paws. She was uniquely creative and could always be found painting mandalas, crocheting, or crafting. She loved having parties with those she loved, talking, laughing and dancing the night away along with wine Wednesday’s with the Quigley St. ladies. She cherished her yearly trips to Mexico, but home was always a meaningful place for her since “home is where the pants aren't”. Patti is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Mitch; daughter, Alice "Ali" (Erik) Juhasz; son, James "Matt" (Aimee Eberwein) Thoennes; mother, Shirley Schneider; granddaughter, Charlotte Thoennes; sisters, Elizabeth "Beth" (Tracy) DePew; Donna (Jim) Morgan; brothers and sisters-in-law, Curt (Susan) Thoennes, Lisa Thoennes, and Eric (Emily Mellen) Thoennes; nieces and nephews, Olivia "Livie" (Jon) Nakagawa, Sara Morgan, Katie Morgan, Marcus DePew, Jimmy Thoennes, Cody Thoennes, and Nick Weith; and many friends. Patti was preceded in death by her father, Edmund "Skip" Schneider; brother, Jimmy Schneider; and father and mother-in-law, James and Anna Thoennes. A celebration of Patti's life will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2019, from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM, at Crawford Place, 817 West Lake Street, Libertyville.
