Norene F. Chesser

Norene F. Chesser, 93, passed away peacefully March 7, 2025. She was born August 18, 1931, in Waukegan to the late Clarence and Sylvia (Hook) Madson. On June 2, 1956, in Millburn, IL, Norene married the love of her life, Glendon L. Chesser, Sr., who passed away in 1998.

Norene's inspiration and legacy was her family. She was a true matriarch. Her health battles later in life proved her to be a warrior, and a testimony of resilience. She will always be loved and missed by all whose lives she touched.

Norene is survived by her loving family, her children, Lynne Grimes, Glendon "Glenn" Chesser, Jr.; and Rodney, Sr. "Rod" (Diana) Chesser; grandchildren, Glendon Chesser III, Brandon Chesser, Justdon Chesser, Joseph Grimes, Rodney, Jr. (Shana) Chesser, Mark (Amanda) Chesser, Anna (Michael) Poncato, Alisa (Doug) Gildes, Jennifer (Dean) Hoida, and Shawn Chesser, Jr.; many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Norene was preceded in death by, her son-in-law, Larry Grimes; her beloved son, Shawn Chesser, Sr.; her twin sisters and their husbands, Charlyene (Willard) Sharpe and Charmayene (Anthony) Labellart; and her sweet daughter-in-law, Cathy Chesser.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025, from 10am-11am, at Bethel Lutheran Church, 5110 Grand Avenue, Gurnee, IL. A funeral service will take place on Monday, March 17, 2025, at 11am at church following the visitation, with Rev. Dr. Ben Squires officiating. There will be a private family burial after the services.
