Mary Christine McCahill, 79, passed away May 12, 2022. She was born December 23, 1942, in Santa Fe, New Mexico to the late Philip Russell and Margaret Frances (Healy) McCahill. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her aunt, Marjorie Jane McCahill.
Mary graduated from DePaul University, received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, and a Master’s Degree in Special Education. She was a Reading Specialist and Special Education teacher with the Chicago Board of Education, and later a substitute teacher in the north suburban school districts. She was an avid photographer, loved reading, traveling, cross country skiing, and enjoyed evening walks with her beloved dogs. Mary was value driven, had strong convictions, was a devout Roman Catholic, and a true Christian woman who loved Jesus. She had unconditional love for her children and would do anything to help them. Mary called a spade a spade, and held true to her beliefs. She was a very loving woman and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Alison (John) Weddle; son, Brian Munro; grandsons, William and John; former husband and his wife, John (Kathy) Munro; and cousin, Erin (John) O’Neill in California.
