Mark Nagode Obituary

Mark W. Nagode, 57, of Kenosha, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 22, 2023. He was born on September 23, 1965, in Waukegan, IL to James "Jake" and Jacqueline "Jackie" (Boustead) Nagode.

Proud and loving Dad, cherished son, devoted brother and brother-in-law.  A very special uncle, loving godfather to his niece, Emma and beloved friend.

We are forever thankful for Marks presence in our lives. Our hearts hurt so much, but we find comfort in our memories, knowing he is well again and at peace.

He so loved his Lord, his family and friends and music which he had in his soul. He always tried to be positive and anticipate good happenings ahead. Some of his very best times were when he was writing songs, playing and singing with many talented musicians and bands over the years. He was happy when their music lifted others’ spirits and they were having fun.

He was born and raised in Waukegan, Illinois and attended AAUW Nursery School, Clearview Elementary School, Jack Benny Junior High School and Waukegan West High School. He continued on taking classes at CLC and Trinity University.

He was a super athlete and enjoyed many sports. He was an avid fisherman and loved to angle for largemouth bass at Governor Dodge State Park in Wisconsin every year. Mark was a proud member of the Waukegan West 1983 state baseball championship team as a pitcher.

He loved worshipping at Great Lakes Church in Kenosha and Racine, Wisconsin and being a part of their musical ministry. Mark grew longtime friendships with many there.

He always looked forward to summers spent early on at our family log cabin on a lake in northern Wisconsin. He looked forward to fishing weekends with his brothers and always being involved with his precious children, Anton (AJ) and Sadie (Sugar Bear). He especially liked being a happy camper with them whenever they were camping together.

Mark fought with a determination that is not possible to put into words. He took on every battle to have more time with his children, family and friends. God has now taken him to his eternal home. We will do our best to honor his spirit by sharing his love and goodness until God calls us home. We will be together again forever.

His voice was a God-given blessing and his music will be forever with us. We all will just keep listening and he will forever be singing and smiling down on us.  We love you Mark. Not goodbye - just see you later.

Mark is survived by his loving family; mother, Jackie Nagode; son, 10-Anton "A.J." Nagode; daughter, 4-Sadie "Bear" Nagode; two brothers, Michael Nagode and Jonathan (Denise) Nagode; two nieces, 27-Natalie (30-Alex Garcia) Nagode and 9-Emma Nagode. He was preceded in death by his beloved father, James "Jake" Nagode.
