Marie T. Grod

Marie T. Grod, 71, passed away June 14, 2024, at home. She was born May 28, 1953, in Conemaugh, PA to the late John and Josephine Theodosia Ruscak. Marie married Gary Grod on January 11, 1975, in her hometown of Conemaugh, PA. Although Marie and Gary did not have any children, their love for animals allowed them to adopt many cats and dogs during their marriage.

Marie is survived by her sister-in-law, Hillary Bellert (James); many cousins; extended family; and her companion, her dog, Wanda. In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Gary Grod, sister, Pearl Ann Ruscak; and nephew, Joshua Perecinsky.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 10:30am, at St. Gilbert Chapel, 301 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL with Rev. Fr. John Chrzan officiating. A private family interment will be held at a later date at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville.
