Mr. T. K. Mani, lovingly known as Thanavelil Kunju, was a devoted follower of Christ, a God-fearing, soft-spoken, noble, prayer warrior, and a compassionate gentleman. He was born on October 16, 1937, and went to be with the Lord on July 14, 2023.
Visitation will take place at Chain of Lakes Community Bible Church, 43 W. Grass Lake Rd, Lake Villa, IL on Friday, July 21st, 2023, from 6 to 8:30 PM.
The funeral service will take place at Chain of Lakes Community Bible Church on Saturday, July 22nd, from 9 to 11:30 AM.

He was the youngest child of Thanavelil Varkey Kuruvilla and Sosamma Kuruvilla in Muttambalom, Kottayam, Kerala. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and took water baptism under the guidance of the late Pastor P. M. Philip. He remained a faithful member of IPC Philadelphia (Kottayam), IPC Vadavathoor, and IPC Tabernacle, where he also served as the secretary for a number of years. The Thanavelil family played a significant role in the Pentecostal movement in the Kottayam area.
After completing his education, Achayan began his career in the Kottayam area and later ventured into entrepreneurial endeavors. He was blessed with a lifelong partner in his beloved wife, Mariamma Mani (Kunjumol - Mulamkuzhiyil house, Kumbanad), and together they shared 58 years of happiness.
In 1980, he relocated to Kuwait where he worked until the Iraqi invasion. Despite facing challenging circumstances during his return to Kerala, Achayan demonstrated resilience and perseverance. He established another successful business in Pampady, Kottayam, before eventually returning to Kuwait. In 2003, he emigrated to the United States, settling in Beach Park, Illinois. Achayan was a Loyal employee of Unified Solutions in Kenosha, Wisconsin, for 13 years.
Achayan resided with his daughter Biji (Sosa) Oommen and family in Beach Park, Illinois. He was a faithful and active member of the Chicago Sharon Fellowship Church in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where he held deep respect for his pastors and embraced the love of the congregation.
Preceding Achayan in death are his two brothers, Mr. Varkey Kuruvilla and Mr. T. K. Philip, as well as his sister, Mrs. Aleyamma Skaria. His only surviving sibling is Mariamma Joseph (wife of Pastor K. M. Joseph, Perumbavoor).
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mariamma Mani, and their children: Finny Mani (Mercy Mani), Biji Oommen (James Oommen), Eapen Mani (Mini Mani), Sam Mani (Vini Mani), and Mercy John (Saji John). he was blessed with 10 Loving grandchildren: Dani Mani (Praise Mani), Joseph Mani, Jakobi Oommen, Luke Oommen, Tabitha Mani, Tessa Mani, Erin Mani, Obed Mani, Angel John, and Aiden John.
The family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the comforting text messages, phone calls, visits to the house and hospital during this difficult time.
We have the blessed hope of seeing our dear Achayan/Appachen once again on the other shore.
