Kimberly Ann Pavel, 55, of Lake Villa, formerly of Gurnee, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Feb. 7, 2018 at Highland Park Hospital. On May 28, 1983 in Palatine, IL, Kim married the love of her life, Peter Pavel. Kim was a beautiful Christian woman, loved our Lord, and had a heart for God's people. She loved the beach, especially her townhome in Fort Myers, FL, where she and her family traveled to their "Happy Place." Kim enjoyed planning get-togethers, parties, and family reunions, and valued the relationships she had with her family and friends. She was a volunteer and very active in charities such as PADS (where she was a Site Leader for many years), Feed My Starving Children, Safe Place, and the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, walking 39.3 miles with her team. She counseled many women through their battles with breast cancer. Kim was an amazing wife, mother, and friend with a heart of gold, and will be missed dearly. She is survived by her loving family; devoted husband of 35 years, Pete; daughter, Loren Pavel; son, Matthew Pavel; brother, Robert (Jennifer) Boekeloo; brothers and sisters-in-law, Agnes (Stefan) Lorincz, Emoke Wallace, Laszlo (Mary) Pavel, Adam (Laura) Pavel, and Daniel (Nicole) Pavel; nieces and nephews, Leanna, Bobby, Andrew, Reese, Maria (Ben), Kathy (Art), Krissi (John), Colleen (Matt), Katie (Dan), Michael, and Grace; great nieces and nephews, Jackie (Derek), Megan, Ava, Sofia, Abigail, Hannah, Griffin, J.J., Ingrid, and many close friends. Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick Allan and Joyce Carol (Wurster) Boekeloo; brother, Frederick Allan Boekeloo, Jr., and her in-laws, Laszlo and Agnes Pavel. Visitation is Saturday, Feb. 17 from 9am-11am at Gurnee Community Church, 4555 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee. A celebration of life will take place at 11am following the visitation at the church with Pastor Todd Habegger from Village Church of Gurnee officating. Interment will be private. Arrangements entrusted to Sambrano Funeral & Cremation, Gurnee, IL.
