Joseph M. Butera, Jr., 82, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2020, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL. He was born on May 10, 1938, in Chicago, IL to the late Joseph M. and Evelyn (Bowles) Butera, Sr. Joseph was a United States Army Veteran. He is survived by his loving family, nieces and nephews, Tom (Kim) Mason, John (Chris) Dalton, Lisa (Eric) Karol, Donna Tackett, Pat (Arnold) Liboy, and Mike (Judy) Charnota; many great nieces and great nephews; and brother, Frank Butera. In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his sisters, Adele Mason, Connie Charnota, Mary McQuade, and Evelyn Butera; brother, Anthony Butera; and nephew, Burl Mason, Jr. Services and interment will be private.
