Jonathan "Jon" Matthew Hedien, 26, went home to be with the Lord on March 3, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born on October 18, 1997, in Muncie, Indiana.
Jon is survived by his loving family, his parents, Jeffery and Mary (Brumfield) Hedien; sister and brother-in-law, Sarah (Graham) Bennett; two nephews, Matthew and Jackson Bennett; maternal grandmother, Sarah Brumfield; aunt, Lisa Hedien; uncles, Carlton (Brenda) Brumfield, John (Ronette) Brumfield, Daniel (Wanda) Brumfield, and Joshua (Sokly) Brumfield; several cousins; his furry companions, his cats, Hootie and Domino; his dog, Chloe; and his loving friends, Zack, Roger, Adam, and Sean. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Brumfield; and his paternal grandparents, Ronal Hedien and Janet Kintz.
Jon was a 2022 Graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Geography, and a minor in Atmospheric Science. He enjoyed tracking the weather, studying geography, nature, gardening, all kinds of birds, and gaming. Jon was also an avid Chicago sports fan, and world famous for "Uncle Jon Jon Presents." He will be terribly missed by his family and friends. Jon made peace with the Lord, and is now in His presence.
A celebration of life service will take place on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 11am, with a memorial visitation from 10am-11am, at Grace Community Bible Church, 1001 E. Grand Avenue, Lake Villa, IL, with Pastor John Benz officiating.
