John (Jack) Joseph Rivelli passed away peacefully, Wednesday, December 1, 2021. John was born on August 8, 1933, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Morrissey) Rivelli. He married the love of his life, Edith Coleman, on July 19, 1952. They were married for 64 years until Edith’s passing on May 12, 2016. John was the 8th of 11 children and the 8th child to pass away.
He enjoyed being a Son, Husband, Father, Grandpa, Great Grandpa and Great Great Grandpa. Throughout the years, he loved to dance the jitterbug with Edith at social occasions. They loved to travel with friends and had season tickets to Marriott Lincolnshire. John was a member of St. Paul the Apostle church in Gurnee.
John worked as an Electrician all his life and was a member of the local IBEW #150.
John is survived by his children, Laurie (Lew) Edwards, Julie McDowell, John (Dianne), Jeff (Wanda) and Jackie Ingoglia; twelve grandchildren, Lisa, Amy, Alan, Cori, Carley, Josh, Bobbie, Jason, Angie, JJ, Nikki and Nina; twenty great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brothers, Tom (Donna), Bill (Vicki) and sister, Cecile Gargano; and his two cats, Candy and Champ, as well as extended family and friends. John was truly loved and will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his son, Larry; son-in-law, Dino Ingoglia; his parents, and seven siblings.
There will be no visitation because of COVID, Funeral Mass of the Christian Burial at 9:00 am, Saturday, December 11th, at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 6401 Gages Lake Rd. Gurnee, IL with Fr. Joe Curtis officiating. Masks will be worn for the Mass. Interment will take place at Ascension Cemetery, 1920 Buckley Rd. Libertyville, IL.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital involved with his very special care.
