John Padour Obituary

John J. Padour, beloved husband, father, and devoted family man, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, after a long and courageous struggle with health challenges. He was 86 years old.

John was born on August 29, 1939, in Czechoslovakia, where he grew up during the difficult years of communist rule. Guided by determination, faith, and an unshakable belief in freedom, he immigrated to the United States to fulfill the American Dream. Through tireless work and perseverance, John built a life defined by integrity, resilience, and purpose.

A hardworking entrepreneur, John founded his own landscaping business and became well known and respected throughout Lake Forest, Illinois, for his dedication, craftsmanship, and strong work ethic. His business was not just a livelihood but a reflection of his pride in honest labor and service to his community.

John had many passions in life. A proud pilot, he loved flying and found joy and peace in the skies. His Catholic faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding his values and sustaining him through both triumphs and trials. He was also deeply committed to a healthy lifestyle and took pride in caring for both body and spirit. Above all else, John’s greatest devotion was to his family, whom he loved unconditionally and wholeheartedly.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marya Padour, and his cherished daughter, Barbie Padour. John was preceded in death by his beloved sons, Matthew and Peter, whom he carried in his heart always.

For the last twenty years of his life, John faced significant health struggles with strength, dignity, and quiet perseverance. After years of endurance, he is now finally at peace.

John J. Padour will be remembered for his courage, his unwavering faith, his generous heart, and the deep love he showed his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the values he passed on to those he loved.
