James Swanson Obituary

James "Jim" Harry Swanson, 67, of Chicago, passed away suddenly January 24, 2019, at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago. He was born October 1, 1951 in Chicago.

Jim, also known by those close to him as 'Swannie' was a pretty care free kind of guy.  He always had a joke to tell, and he loved making people laugh.  Some of his friends have said that they will miss his corny jokes.  Jim was an engineer, loved designing things, and in general could fix just about anything.  He loved his job, and was described as barely ever taking a sick day, he became very close friends with many of his co-workers.  Jim loved (and was loved by) his family, he really enjoyed taking walks around the neighborhood with his granddaughter or his dog. Jim was a United States Air Force Veteran, and worked at Flow Products in Chicago for the past 18 years.

He is survived by his loving family, his wife, Lucy Swanson; daughter, Suzanne "Suzy" Swanson, and granddaughter, Kenzy Rosenburgh. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Eleanor (Gorman) Swanson, and his beloved daughter, Melissa Swanson.

Services and interment are private. Arrangements entrusted to Sambrano Funeral & Cremation, Gurnee, IL. Please sign the guestbook at LauraSambranoFunerals.com; 847-571-7719.
