James Edward Anderson, 81, of Zion, went home to be with his Lord January 11, 2018 at home after a lengthy illness. He was born May 11, 1936 in Itawamba County, MS. On Nov. 19, 1977 in Zion, Edd married the love of his life, Patricia Pounders. Edd was a member of Zion Church of God for many years. He worked at American Motors in Kenosha for 10 years, then worked and retired after 31 years of service as a Senior Machinist in 1999 from OMC in Waukegan. Edd was a car enthusiast, enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was an avid gardener. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Patricia Anderson; five children, Cathie Michelle Anderson, Mignon (Chris) Carter, Pat (Dan) Rixie, Eddie Anderson and Mike Anderson; seven grandchildren, Keagan, Candi (Mike), Dallas (Michelle), Josh, Leslie, Heather and Geriann; six great grandchildren; sister, Shirley (Bobby) Pounders; sister-in-law, Angie (Tommy) Barker; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Lydia (Kent) Anderson; son, Jeffrey Scott Anderson; granddaughter, Danielle Renee Rixie; sister and brother-in-law, Pauline (Pete) Harrell. Visitation is Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018 from 5-7 pm at Zion Church of God, 2700 Eschol Ave., Zion. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018 at 11 am with visitation from 10-11am at the church with Pastor James Gambill officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. The family appreciates and would like to thank Vitas Hospice for all the care shown to Edd over the past few months.
