Geraldine "Gerri" C. Payne

Geraldine C. Payne “Gerri”, 67, went home to be with the Lord on July 9, 2023. She was born on July 19, 1955, in Chicago, to the late Stephen and Margaret (Harer) Payne.

Gerri was a longtime member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Gurnee under the pastoral care of Rev. Dr. Ben Squires. Gerri worked for more than 30 years at Cherry Electrical Products in Waukegan. She then worked at Target in Vernon Hills, retiring in 2020, after many years of service. Gerri enjoyed the lunch visits, and time spent reminiscing about the good old days with her coworkers from Cherry Electrical.

She is survived by her brothers, Michael (Judy) Payne and Donald (Diane) Payne; sister-in-law, Joyce Payne; several nieces and nephews; her best friend, Mattie Bell; and many more close friends. In addition to her parents, Gerri was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Stephen Payne, Jr.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at 3:00 pm, at Bethel Lutheran Church, 5110 Grand Ave., Gurnee with Rev. Dr. Ben Squires officiating. Interment will be private.
