Gala Herner

Gala Herner, 85, of Gurnee, passed away on July 23, 2021, at home. She was born July 24, 1935, in Fairfield, IL to the late Walter and Callie (nee Cravens) Pool. Gala had a huge heart, loved her family, and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and quilting. She made several blankets for St. Jude Children's Hospital and the Linus Project to help children with cancer. Gala is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Paul Seday, Sr.; nine children, Vicki Johnson, Gregory (Kathy) Herner, Gary Herner, Virginia (Robert) Dornik, Paul, Jr. (Denise) Seday, Valerie Maples, Phyllis Jurgens, Danny (Nan) Seday, and MaryAnn Mejia; grandchildren, Bobby (Natalie), Heidi (Marty), Zach (Erin), Jessy (Chris), and Daniel (Stephanie); many great grandchildren; one niece, Janice (Rich) Reusche, and one nephew, Michael (Julie) McQueen. In addition to her parents, Gala was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Jack McQueen; son-in-law, Randy Johnson; and granddaughter, Stephanie.
