Gail S. Basner

Gail S. Basner passed away at home on November 17, 2021. She was born on August 27, 1936, in Chicago. Gail was a wonderful painter and active in the North Shore art community. She was a lifelong Chicagoan who loved painting the many beautiful Chicago cityscapes. 
Gail was an avid animal lover who was preceded in death by her sweet dog, Sadie, and by her longtime companion, Jack Dougherty. She is survived by her three step-children, Kelly Dougherty, Dan Dougherty, and Kerry Dougherty; one brother and sister-in-law, Don and Nancy Hilgert; and one nephew, John Hilgert. Per Gail's wishes, there will be no services. Interment is private. Memorial donations may be made to Paws Chicago at www.pawschicago.org or Orphans of the Storm at www.orphansofthestorm.org.
