Frances Madeline Lehigh, 94, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2022, at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. She was born on December 21, 1927, in Pennsylvania to the late Rev. Joseph and Mae (DeMarco) Davis. On May 28, 1950, in Deep River, Iowa, Fran married the love of her life, Donald Lehigh. Her father, the Rev. Joseph Davis, officiated their wedding at his Presbyterian Church. Fran loved spending time with her family and she enjoyed traveling, going with them to sporting events, concerts, and musicals, to name a few. She retired from Lake Forest High School after many years of teaching English, and really enjoyed working with her students. Fran was a member of the Lions Club in Wildwood and the Moose Lodge in Waukegan. She was also active at the First Presbyterian Church in Libertyville as a Stephen Minister, where she visited people in need of pastoral care. Fran is survived by her loving family, sons, Craig (Tami) Lehigh and Brad (Annie) Lehigh; grandson, Tim Lehigh; sisters-in-law, Sandra Davis and Kaye Davis; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Fran was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Don Lehigh; brothers, Steve Davis, Harold Davis; and sister, Betty (the late Fred) Arnold.
