Elizabeth "Lisa" K. Adepoju

Elizabeth "Lisa" Katherine Adepoju, 58, of Gurnee, went home to be with the Lord on July 26, 2022. She was born on August 1, 1963, in New Orleans, LA to Walter H. and Elizabeth Jane (Lacey) Petersen. 

Lisa attended Gurnee Community Church for many years, and helped with the food pantry ministry. She had a Bachelor of Science Degree, enjoyed being a Physician Assistant, and working with the follow-up with her patients. Lisa was last employed with Advocate Aurora Hospital in Kenosha, WI. She loved spending time with her family, enjoyed live music, dancing, and traveling. Lisa was loved and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to know her. 

She is survived by her loving family, her husband, Thomas K. Adepoju; father, Walter H. Petersen; two sons, Sean Fitzgerald and Connor Fitzgerald; two step-daughters, Jessica Adepoju and Dawn Adepoju; brothers, Matt (Amy) Petersen, Michael (Jaime Castillo) Petersen, and Chris Petersen; niece, Emma Petersen; nephew, Henry Petersen; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rufus, Josephine, Caroline, Grace, Ayinde, Gbenga, Omolade, Titilayo, Yenikan and Kola Adepoju; many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins from Missouri, Florida, Texas, Germany, and Nigeria; and many close friends.

Lisa was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Elizabeth Jane (Lacey) Petersen; and her father and mother-in-law, Michael and Juliannah Adepoju.

A memorial gathering will take place Sunday, July 31, 2022, from 3-4pm, at Gurnee Community Church, 4555 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee. A celebration of life will follow the visitation at church on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at 4pm, with Pastor Brian K. Walter officiating. Interment will be private.
