Dolores J. (Scroggins) Nelson

Dolores J. (Scroggins) Nelson, age 90, died at Thrive Nursing Home in Mundelein on December 9, 2022, surrounded by her sister, Louise, the Egwu family, Queeneth, and her sons, Judah and Jonathan. She was born on August 3, 1932, in Waukegan to the late Pauline (Justen) Scroggins and Milton Scroggins.

Dolores was an avid reader, enjoyed doing puzzles, was the best cookie maker, and loved taking care of children for all her family and friends.

She is survived by her three children, Susan (Jeff) Shapiro of CT, Barbara (John) Tone of CT, and Michael Nelson of Chicago, IL; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; her special friends, Marny and Bill Scully and their children, Judah and Leah; her siblings, Richard (Theresa) Scroggins of Houston, TX, Louise Hill-Niemi of Gurnee, IL, and Milton "Bud" (Roberta) Scroggins of Zion, IL; sister-in-law, Barbara Scroggins of Simi Valley, CA; and many nieces and nephews. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Dorothy (Gilbert) Mackey, Jack Scroggins, and Joanne (Scroggins) Stenerson. 

Services and interment for Dolores will be private, and held at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville.
