Obituary

Diane Heslop, 91, of Zion, formerly of Charleston, WV, passed away January 30, 2020, at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. She was born March 25, 1928, in Charleston, WV to the late Luther Lee and Edith Leslie (nee Mankin) Crowell. On September 9, 1947, in West Virginia, Diane married Robert Jarrott Heslop. Diane is survived by her loving family, daughters, Diane Dils (Rick) Witowski, Nancy Lee (Stephen) Carlson, and Holly Jarrott (George) Garbo; brother-in-law, Chuck Stowe; grandchildren, Eric Witowski, Wendy (Chuck) Culp, Elizabeth Witowski, Acacia (Eric) Newcomb, Christine (Christopher) Davis, Carolyn Garbo, and Kelly Garbo; great grandchildren, Alec, Colin, McKenna, Briar, Jarett, Kali, Isabella, Nico, Olivia, Andrew, Jacob; and three nieces. In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Robert Jarrott Heslop; and sister, Margaret Jane Stowe. Diane was an artist, and enjoyed painting oil portraits. She graduated at the age of 77 with a Bachelor's Degree in Art from Western Illinois University, and went on to teach art at Spoon River College in Central Illinois. A memorial service will take place on Monday, February 3, 2020, at 11:00 am at Gurnee, Community Church, 4555 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee, IL, with a memorial gathering from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the church with Pastor Chris Stephens officiating.
