Dario Ocampo Ocampo

Dario Ocampo Ocampo, 76, of Waukegan, passed away peacefully January 10, 2023. He was born December 20, 1946, in Mexico to the late Balbino and Lucina Ocampo. In July of 1982, Dario married the love of his life, Betty Montes de Oca. Dario loved spending time with his family, especially watching his daughter and grandchildren play soccer. He also enjoyed fishing, scratching lottery tickets and playing slot machines.

Dario is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Betty Ocampo; three children, Nancy (Alfonso Nunez) Ocampo, David (Theresa) Ocampo, and Lynette Ocampo; seven grandchildren, Branden Nunez, Brianna Nunez, Brayden Nunez, Braylee Nunez, Zaylee Ocampo, David Ocampo, and Hazel Ocampo; two sisters, Zoila Ocampo and Marta (the late Manuel Gil) Ocampo; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Maria Ocampo, Lorenza (the late Jose Carvajal) Montes de Oca, Ignacio (Francelia) Montes de Oca, Ines Montes de Oca, Yolanda (Alvin) Echeverria, Indalia Giles, Paula (Ricardo) Herrera, Roberto Montes de Oca, Yazmin Montes de Oca, Joel Montes de Oca, and Jose Luis Montes de Oca; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dario was preceded in death by his four brothers, Perfecto Ocampo, Roberto Ocampo, Jesus Ocampo, and Jose Ocampo; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bardomiano Montes de Oca and Maria Carrillo.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023, at 11am, with visitation from 10am-11am, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 450 Keller Avenue,  Waukegan. Burial will follow at Warren Cemetery, Gurnee.
