Dan Florio

Dan Florio, of Wadsworth, IL passed away November 26, 2025. He is survived by his wife, Nicole Florio (Cashmore); brother, Terry (Vicki) Florio; former wife, Diane Florio, and their children, Carson (Susan) Florio, Dylan (Heather) Florio; step-children, Caitlyn, Jordyn, Dylan; and grandchildren, Chloe, Kyleigh, Mason, Olive and Sylas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mae Florio; and sister, Robin Lynn.

Dan spent an accomplished life working in sales. More than that, Dan dedicated almost 20 years in coaching, and impacting youth leading them in football, baseball and basketball while helping to lead the Waukegan Chiefs football program in its young years into a robust program and area powerhouse.

Dan enjoyed riding his Harley and loved nothing more than the freedom of the road, safely in his older years and a little more recklessly while younger. You could also usually find him in his prized possession, his big baby, his truck. He was a very serious man most of the time, but he always knew when to be goofy to make someone laugh. He was an avid Chicago sports fan and never stopped cheering for his teams. He also loved the beach and tropical weather and was happiest when he was somewhere warm and by the ocean.

When something was broken, Dan was quick to lend a hand to family and friends in repairing it, whether it be a car, bike or something in the house.

Dan had a special place in his heart for all of his grand-children and always appreciated any opportunity to boast about how much he loved them and how proud he was of all their accomplishments.

Dan’s legacy lives on in the love of his family, the roar of a Harley on the highway, and the cheers of a Chicago sports fan. He will be deeply missed, and lovingly remembered.

Visitation is Monday, December 1, 2025, from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm, with funeral services at 7 pm, at Ringa Funeral Home, 122 S. Milwaukee Ave., Lake Villa, IL. Interment will be private.
