Cynthia Ellen Akins

Cynthia Ellen Akins, 58, passed away unexpectedly October 11, 2024. She was born November 10, 1965, in Waukegan to Richard and Joyce (Drang) Akins.

She loved animals, cats especially, like her cat Willow and Lexie's cat Charlie. She also loved visiting new places with Lexie and trying new foods, going to concerts, and spending time shopping. Cynthia also loved spending time outdoors during the summer with her sister Tammy and nieces. 

Cynthia is survived by her loving daughter, Alexis "Lexie" (Dalton Smrekar) Akins; mother, Joyce Akins; brother, Jeffrey (Phyllis) Akins; sister, Tamara (Brock) Holtz; and nieces, Andrea Simonovic, Erin Holtz, Brittany Akins, and Nicole Akins. 

A memorial visitation, service and luncheon will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 3-7pm at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2720 N.
