Corrine Peery, a beloved Mother and Grandmother, earned her angel wings on the evening of March 4th. Loving daughter of Henry and Eleanor Masa of Westmont, IL; identical twin to Carol Masa Greenleaf, born June 16th, 1939, and older sister to Linda Lee Masa. She was the life of the party, known to be dancing, singing or playing her accordion. She married Bill Peery Sr of Paris, TN and was blessed with 5 bundles of joy; 4 girls and a boy. Her adult years were spent between Dyersburg, TN and around Lake County, IL. She spent many years as a teacher's assistant for special needs students and running the salad bar at Dominicks. Some evenings you’d catch her waiting tables at Toby’s amongst her best of friends. Corrine loved her family and her Cubbies more than anything in the world, and some days we weren’t sure which she loved more. She was a friend to all and would give her last penny to anyone in need. She made friends everywhere she went; all immediately calling her by her name, Grandma. She found great joy in watching any sport, from her all time favorite Chicago teams (Cubs and Bulls) to the local bowling league, she absolutely loved them all. On rare occasion a sports event was not on, you could catch her watching her favorite game shows and bantering with the tv. She was an avid competitor and enjoyed her years on bowling leagues, shuffle bowl and dart leagues at her ever favorite establish, Toby’s Tavern. You’d continually see her playing Bingo (I-22 toot-toot and O-69, everyone’s favorite numbers) and gifting away her winnings. A warrior, a best friend to many, a confidant and the biggest cheerleader. She never missed a grandchild’s sporting event and would always be the first to let the refs know of their bad calls. Her greatest joys were found spending time with friends and family. She was the best Mother and Gram-Cracker a family could ask for and her legacy will continue on with those she’s left behind. Corrine is survived by her adoring children; Linda Peery of Friendship, TN, Lisa (Bill) Rose of Waukegan, IL, Laura Peery (Alan) Keller of Waukegan, IL, Billy Peery Jr (Alicia) of Tucson, AZ, and LuAnn (Mark) Kellerhals of Gurnee, IL; her many grandchildren, Brandi Koonce (Bryan) Lehner, Tiffani Peery (Benji) Medlin, Brittani Rose, Samantha (Paul) Boettcher, Douglas Peery, Maximilian Kellerhals, Bryce Rose, and Alexander Kellerhals; and great grandchildren, Bridget Medlin, Aubrey Lehner, Annalise Lehner, Westyn Lehner, Levi Medlin, Charlotte Boettcher and Whitney Medlin; not to mention those loved furry grandkids of hers too! She was preceded in death by both her parents, twin sister, Carol Greenleaf, and her little sister, Linda Lee Masa, as well as her ex-husband, Bill Peery, Sr., and her late boyfriend, Sweet Baby Ray. Her family will now journey through this next stage of life without their head coach but in true Gram-Cracker spirit, she’ll continue to cheer on her favorite team from heaven and keeping our seats open to join her. GO CUBBIES!
