Brenda Kay Zobel

Brenda Kay Zobel, 67, of Salem, WI, passed away peacefully at home on August 6, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 18, 1956, at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan, IL to the late Lawrence Andrew and Catherine Lorraine (Pullium) Foster. On November 4, 1983, in Waukegan, Brenda married the love of her life, LeRoy Howard Zobel.

She had a passion for crafting and throughout the years she gifted her family and friends with many of her creations that they will now cherish. Brenda's smile was infectious, her laughter contagious, but her love for everyone was abundant, until the very end. Over the last few months, she fought hard in her battle while remaining strong for those she loved. Please consider giving "the gift of life" in her memory by signing up to be an organ donor. 

Brenda is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, LeRoy; her children, Bryan (Kaitlin) Zobel, Jami (Ken) Mumford, Wade (Luis Casavantes) Zobel, Kristin Zobel, Vince (Monique) Zobel, and Dani Zobel; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and a baby great grandson on the way; sister, Laura (Keith) Peterson; cousins, Irene (Gerald) Rehbein, Leon (Warren Skallman) Zobel, and
Darla Benoit; 2 nieces and 1 nephew; best friends, Lisa (Brian) Bezak, Cyn Tolstyga, Sandy Barrons, Jeannie Hanson, Kathy (John) Buckingham-Odom, and Pat LaMont; and her God-daughter, Treasure Warner. In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Lillian Foster; her parents-in-law, Howard and Esther Zobel; beloved grandson, Chayse James-Thomas Mumford; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Pat Zobel; and her non-biological "sister from another mister," Carolyn LaMont.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Joyful Spirit United Methodist Church, 36325 N. Maple Ave., Ingleside, IL. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 pm at the church with the Rev. Dr. Irene Taylor officiating. In honor of Brenda, please wear something purple (her favorite color) on the day of her services. Burial will follow at Wilmot Cemetery in Wilmot, WI (Town of Randall). A reception will take place after the cemetery services at the Mexican Paradise Café, 436 Lake St., Antioch, IL.
