Anna May Thoennes

Anna May Thoennes, 83, of Waukegan, formerly of Mundelein, passed away suddenly on  Sunday, February 24, 2019, at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan with her family by her side. She was born July 18, 1935, in Kewanee, IL to the late Wilton and Vera (Larson) Parris. Anna married James Francis Thoennes in August 1957, in Bloomington, IL. She raised her children as a single mother when her husband passed away in 1972. Anna was a school teacher for many years, and volunteered at local colleges around Mesa, AZ. She traveled and visited historical sites and national parks around the Mesa, AZ area with the Senior Excursion Group called the “Desert Rats.” Anna is survived by her children, Curt (Susan) Thoennes, Mitch (Patti) Thoennes, Lisa Thoennes and Eric (Emily Mellen) Thoennes; brother, Daniel Parris; grandchildren, Alice (Erik) Juhasz, Matthew Thoennes, Nicholas Weith, Jimmy Thoennes and Cody Oehler-Thoennes; nieces and nephews, Susan (Wayne) Parris Parks, Todd Parris, Carrie Parris,  and the entire Thoennes Family; dear friend, Bijorg Davis, and her companion, her dog, Toby. In addition to her parents and husband, Anna was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Faye Parris. We are honoring Anna's life on Saturday, March 2, 2019, from 1:30 pm until 5:00 pm, at The Regent Center (Senior Center), 1200 Regent Drive, Mundelein. Please deliver all flowers to Curt and Susan's home anytime from now until 11:00am on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at 1083 Aberdeen Lane, Mundelein, IL 60060.
