Ernest Eugene Tilley, Jr

 Ernest Eugene Tilley, Jr., 66, of Round Lake, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 16, 2018 at home with his loving family by his side. He was born August 14, 1951 in Key West, FL. On November 27, 1971 in Tampa, FL, Ernie married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Kathie Marie Mullis. Ernie was a Vietnam Veteran in the US Navy. He was a member at Temple Baptist Church in Chesapeake, VA for 27 years, where he served as Deacon for many years, sang in the choir, and was Treasurer of the church. Since 2001, Ernie was a member at Faith Baptist Church in Round Lake Beach, IL where he served as Deacon, lead the music, taught Adult Bible Class, and was Treasurer of the church. Ernie is the devoted husband of Kathie Marie Tilley, they were married 46 years; loving father of Amy Marie Johnson and David Eugene Tilley; beloved grandfather of Leyla, Roman and Noah; dear brother of Alfred (Gwen) Couch, Margerette Campbell, Lenora (Ray) Carlilie, Nancy Garica, Martha King, Sharon (Jeff) Wynn; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Frank (Janet Flahart) Owens, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Eugene and Ada Mae (Etter) Tilley, Sr.; beloved daughter, Gina Troxanne Tilley, and brother, James Tilley. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 10:00am with a short visitation prior to services from 9:30am-10:00am at Faith Baptist Church, 1333 N. Cedar Lake Rd., Round Lake Beach with Pastor William Stacy and Pastor John Rosol officiating. Burial will take place at 2:30pm on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. Memorial donations may be made to Faith Baptist Church Missionaries Fund.
