Charles "Chuck" Rossmann

Charles "Chuck" Rossmann, 71, of Wadsworth, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, August 12, 2018. He was born on September 28, 1946 in Waukegan. Chuck graduated from Zion Benton Township High School in 1964, was drafted to the Army in 1966, and spent 18 months in Germany. He was a lifetime resident of Wadsworth, and enjoyed living next to the Wadsworth Park. Chuck met Sharyn Reno in grade school. The two became high school sweethearts, and later married on June 1, 1968. Chuck has owned Frank's Auto Center since 1980, was a master machinist mechanic, restored 2 Corvettes, 4 Street Rods, and always loved his work. He was also a longtime member of North Shore Rods, where he made lifelong friends, and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waukegan. Chuck was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, brother, and friend, who always loved his family. He is survived  by his loving, devoted wife of 50 years, Sharyn Rossmann; daughter and son-in-law, Sara (Tony) Dicriscio; son, Jason (Michelle) Rossmann; step-mother, Patricia (William Butwil) Rossmann; grandchildren, Mazzy, Zachary, Logan, and Emma; brothers and sisters, Susan Ehrhardt, Daniel Rossmann, Jane (Jeff) Soderquist, James "Duff" (Karen) Rossmann, Mary (Joey) Walldan, Patrick (Kim) Rossmann, and Amy Rossmann; brother-in-law, Douglas Reno, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, William Rossmann; his mother, Mary (Chalupnik) Rossmann; brother and sister-in-law, William"Billy" (Sandy) Rossmann; sister, Pam Thompson, and sister-in-law, Patricia Reno. An open house celebration of Chuck will take place on Sunday, August 26th, 2018 from 1-4 pm at Stone Creek Grill, 206 Sheridan Rd., Winthrop Harbor. Interment will be private.
